The Mount Pleasant Area School District board voted Tuesday to approve a slate of personnel actions, including custodial and school-police hires and tenure for five teachers.
Chair (board) led approval of personnel items after motions from trustees. Agenda item 3.2 added Justin Halterman as a second‑shift custodian; item 3.3 listed two school‑police hires — Dennis Alcock (full time) and Jason Hayes (part time) — and item 3.4 granted tenure to five staff members. "These hires actually give us the opportunity to where every single school, every single day, all day long will be covered by an officer, and, that that's a great place to be," Staff member said after the police hires were approved.
The tenure motions were moved and seconded on the record and approved by voice vote. Board members also approved mentor teacher assignments and a GRAMA/contract with ESS Northeast to fund a job coach for the coming '2627' school year. Motions on all personnel items were approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
