Sylvania seeks Lake Erie West funding for roundabout and resurfacing projects

Service Director Joe Shaw told council that Lake Erie West opened funding windows and that Sylvania would submit multiple applications for the Centennial Road & Little Road roundabout and for smaller resurfacing/reconstruction segments. "The request for this particular project is $1,363,774," he said of the CMAQ roundabout application, which the city estimates would cover about 61% of the roughly $2.2 million project.
Council then approved separate filings into the Surface Transportation program for the same roundabout and for two small-project requests: Erie Street resurfacing (total $479,771, request $319,817) and the final Main Street reconstruction gap (total about $1,080,144, request $625,000). Resolutions 8–11, all presented and adopted as emergency measures, authorize the mayor and director of finance to file the respective applications.
