The superintendent told the board the district has begun a partnership with a third party described as "AI for Education" to help the district develop guidance and policy for teachers and older students on use of generative artificial intelligence. "We begun work with, I think it's a it's a great national organization, AI for Education," the superintendent said, and added that all administrators recently attended a training session on generative AI.
Officials said the outside group will work with administrators and teachers during the school year to help craft policies and training materials. The superintendent described the engagement as a way to teach students to use AI "safely, ethically, and meaningfully" and said the board approved the contract to bring the group into the district's professional development plan.
