District leaders told the board that summer capital work — a large secondary‑campus paving project, tennis‑court renovations and roof repairs — is on schedule and will be finished before students return. "That work will be completed prior to our students' 1st day, which is August 24," the superintendent said, adding that the facilities team completed a large portion of a general‑lane roof project and replaced antiquated halogen lighting in the high‑school cafeteria with new LED fixtures.
The superintendent thanked district staff for completing projects over the summer and noted camps and other summer activities kept buildings in active use. The board was also told these projects are easier to complete when school is not in session and that principals and facilities staff coordinated to meet the start‑of‑school timeline.
