Great Valley SD to launch Infinite Campus but keep Pickup Patrol for dismissal

The Great Valley School District board was told this evening that the district is moving from Skyward to Infinite Campus and will send families a communication before school starts to explain how to retrieve schedules and access tech support. "This is our learning management system. It's replacing the skyward system, which we've had for the better part of 2 decades," the superintendent said, adding staff training and migration work are underway and that families will receive guidance soon.
Staff cautioned that Infinite Campus can handle absence reporting but does not yet meet the district's dismissal needs — a functionality some schools currently handle with Pickup Patrol. "It is going away for middle school," one staff member said, but added that because Infinite Campus was found not to satisfy dismissal processes in mid‑July, Pickup Patrol will continue to be used for dismissals this fall and its license runs through October. The superintendent also described how the district will use Infinite Campus for absence reporting and retain some manual steps at dismissal while testing integrations.
