Resident urges county to pursue 12‑month no‑contact order after alleged harassment at township meetings

During the public‑comment period resident Les Orvis urged the county to take immediate legal steps after what he described as sustained harassment of local officials and board members at township zoning meetings. Orvis described confrontations he said culminated in a person following a board member to his vehicle after a meeting. He named several residents and asked the board, the county administrator and the county attorney to put a 12‑month no‑contact condition in place and to have attorneys coordinate.
"I'm asking for a 12 month no contact. No emails, no texts, no letters, no in person, no meetings to keep our board members safe," Orvis said, asking for a response within 48 hours and for attorneys to be involved. The board acknowledged the comment and confirmed it would be considered; the chair thanked Orvis and moved on to the next agenda item.
