City manager Kevin Sweet said Seminole County had engaged an appraiser and the two governments were beginning valuation and use discussions. "They're doing a substantial appraisal," he said. Commissioners and residents raised repeated flooding concerns for nearby neighborhoods, the loss of a conservation easement, and the need to protect wetlands; some commissioners said the limited commerical frontage could make mixed development likely but urged protecting the back wetland areas for flood mitigation.
The commission directed staff to continue coordinated talks with county staff (including a scheduled meeting with the county manager) and to report back at the next meeting with options and any appraisal information the county will share. Several commissioners emphasized resident protections, stormwater remediation, and working closely with Oviedo and CFX on mitigation options.
