Board approves $24,200 boiler replacement at Hunt Elementary and $44,922 stadium sound system

The Board approved two Buildings & Grounds recommendations: JB Mechanical will replace Roy A. Hunt Elementary’s domestic hot water boilers for $24,200, the lowest responsive bid, and the district will replace the Valley Jr/Sr High School football stadium sound system for $44,922, also the lowest bid.
During discussion of the stadium audio project, Director Rob Fusia asked if the speakers could be oriented downward to reduce sound traveling up adjacent hills and to address community complaints; the board directed project teams to consider directional placement when implementing the system. Both motions were approved unanimously and identified the Capital Projects Fund as the payment source.
