Resident asks Slippery Rock Area School Board for donation to SR Education Foundation

Lisa Schiller, a district resident and member of the SR Education Foundation Board, asked the Slippery Rock Area School Board on June 8 to consider a monetary donation to the foundation.
"The Foundation has made grant funding available for two grants this school year including the request by Courtney Lauster for R.O.C.K. Solid Foundations and Donna Lueken for the Serenity Garden at the high school," Schiller said. The request was made during the public-comment portion of the regular meeting.
Board members did not take immediate action on the request during the meeting; the item was presented as a public appeal for future consideration. The foundation's grants were offered as examples of how district-directed donations would be used.
