"I tried to hit on all of your key points while keeping it while making it an under 10 task for the nominator," Stoll said, explaining that the form asks for nominator information, nominee details and a concise statement on impact and alignment with the commission’s mission. Chair Emily Burnemann said the commission should avoid creating barriers to nominations but also preserve professional presentation for mayoral recognition.
Commissioners discussed next steps for review and vetting: after public nominations are collected, the commission will conduct its own research and vet candidates against criteria such as measurable safety impact and alignment with Complete Streets goals. No formal vote was taken in the meeting; the form will be circulated for commissioner feedback and edited offline to incorporate input.
