The Cobb County Board of Elections voted to make Legacy Church (1040 Blackwell Road, Marietta) the permanent polling location for Bells Ferry 02. Director Lee Phillips told the board the precinct has 2,924 active voters and that the proposed site offers adequate parking, accessibility and a sanctuary where voting will take place.
"The proposed polling location for Bells Ferry 02 would be Legacy Church 1040 Blackwell Road, Marietta, Georgia 30066," Phillips said during the public hearing, adding that staff had found no ADA issues and that the site is confirmed through 2027. After brief questions about the map and contract term, a board member moved to accept the change; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
Why it matters: The change separates Bells Ferry 02 from its prior co‑location, gives the precinct a dedicated permanent site and requires staff to notify voters, update signage and mapping, and make database changes to implement the change.
Next steps: Staff will notify affected voters, update maps and the voter registration database and install signage at the new site.
