Commission sets Sept. 15 as public hearing date for 2027 proposed budget

Staff also noted that county statute (referred to in the transcript as the Century Code) requires the draft budget be presented and available for the public but does not require counties to approve a preliminary budget the way some cities do.
The hearing will allow members of the public to address the commission about the proposed 2027 budget; staff offered to answer questions in advance and to provide additional information to commissioners before the hearing.
