Town manager: state and federal grant work under way; developer may propose entry-level homes

Alan, the town manager, gave a multi-part update on capital and development efforts: banners and flowers were recently installed in town; the green-waste piles have been burned and are being cleaned up; and the East Entrance grant application to the state has been submitted to fund concrete-block work at the entrance. “The main grant that we're looking at to the state will be used primarily for the concrete blocks that we use at the entrance,” Alan said.
Alan said the CHFA-related purchase of the Sagewood lots is complete from the towns side pending final recording of documents, and that staff met with a consulting engineer and a design-build firm to refine a project that would make the DOE grant usable. He also said a local developer (referred to as Andy) anticipates submitting a formal offer this week for several town lots and that the likely housing product would be three-bedroom, two-bath entry-level homes.
