The Parks & Recreation Board confirmed multiple summer programs and special events during its May 4 meeting. Free tennis and pickleball clinics are scheduled (May 16 clinic 1:30–2:30 p.m.; lessons begin June 8 and run through early August), a Pollinator Pow‑Wow is set for June 14, Butterfly Camp at Eastwood Preserve is planned for July 25 (9:00 a.m.), and Community Day is scheduled for Aug. 7–9. A Summer Concerts on the Green series was listed with bands on Sundays from June 7 through Aug. 16.
Board and staff asked for several administrative updates: event times missing from the website should be corrected (Pollinator Pow‑Wow and clinic listings), instructors and participant counts for clinics should be confirmed with Amber, and staffing/volunteer plans for Community Day must be finalized, including a booth at the library entrance and printed materials. The board discussed limiting merchandise to hats/visors rather than T‑shirts and advised simplifying sales logistics to avoid cash/change problems during the event.
