Staff explained the communications center operates at the county level and the municipality must upgrade radios to maintain interoperability; the commission approved the lease-purchase financing on a unanimous roll call vote.
Commissioners thanked the department chiefs for attending and emphasized the public-safety importance of modern, interoperable communications equipment.
