At the start of the meeting the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee moved and approved the July 2024 regular meeting minutes. A motion to approve was made by a committee member (speaker 9) and seconded by another member (speaker 3); the meeting recorded ayes and the minutes were approved.
Later, PRAC heard extensive public comment on youth ball fields and a presentation from Friends of Fernandina Skate Park. Staff reported the City Commission asked staff to include $90,000 in the proposed FY25 parks budget for skate-park design; PRAC did not take a formal vote on budget appropriation during this meeting and will review design materials if and when design funding is authorized by the Commission.
