City staff: $90,000 proposed for skate-park design; PRAC will review drawings

Parks and Recreation Director Scott Michaelson told the advisory committee the City Commission instructed staff to include $90,000 in the proposed FY25 parks and recreation budget to pay for a design phase and construction documents for a new skate park. Michaelson said that after designs are complete, PRAC will review them and may issue a formal recommendation to the City Commission.
"This $90,000 will allow us to get a design and provide the community with a design all the way through to construction drawings," Michaelson said. He added that staff will work closely with Friends of Fernandina Skate Park and PRAC during the design process and expects to return to PRAC with refined pricing and documentation before any bid or construction steps.
