Commissioners note data centers bring taxes but few long‑term jobs

Commissioners and staff discussed economic tradeoffs of allowing data centers: while such facilities can contribute tax base or be eligible for incentives, they generally do not produce large numbers of permanent local jobs. "Jobs aren't the big thing on data centers. It's not like you're gonna bring hundreds of jobs," staff said when asked about employment impacts.
