Council to consider state cybersecurity services agreement; no cost to city reported

Comptroller Tony Tracy told the council the proposed intergovernmental agreement with New York State would expand cybersecurity notifications, software and related services for the city at no direct cost. Tracy said the state estimated the value of the services at about $28,000 but is not charging Peekskill for the arrangement and that staff recommend bringing a resolution to sign the agreement.
Council members asked whether the arrangement is funded for only three years and what would happen after the funded period ends. "Do we know what happens after the 3 years? I know we're funded for 3 years on this, but does this look like it's something that gets renewed or that we would have to budget for in the future?" one council member asked. Tracy said he did not have that information at the moment and would follow up. The council agreed to have a resolution returned for the Aug. 17 meeting.
