Bridget Gomez tapped as Wilson School vice principal

The Waterbury Board of Education approved Bridget Gomez as assistant (vice) principal at Wilson Elementary School, effective Aug. 11, 2026. Commissioner Ireland moved the appointment and the board recorded unanimous approval by voice vote.
Dr. Schwartz recommended Gomez and outlined her 15 years with the district, prior interim vice principal roles and program coordination. In accepting the appointment, Gomez said she was ‘‘excited to become a Wilson Wolf’’ and thanked the superintendent, mentors and family.
The board did not record objections and the appointment will proceed with HR onboarding and placement at Wilson School in August.
