Members questioned design choices including 8-foot sidewalks and whether to build aprons and driveway cuts now or require a future developer to install them. One member asked whether a proposed Goodsell driveway cut should be built now despite no development plan for that parcel; staff said the apron could be revised and that it would not be difficult to adjust later. The board asked staff to supply a dimensioned plan so members can verify counts and decide whether to retain the current approved layout or alter it before proceeding with the awarded scope.
The discussion balanced immediate parking gains against the risk of locking in driveway locations that future property owners might prefer to alter; staff noted curbing, sidewalk and driveway apron work were approved and awarded, while paving on the west end had not yet been approved.
