Board member Ellen Daniels said gardeners who donated toward the barn want an update on its status and reported that "a Southern Road property owner is still moving on park property; gold balls are being found." The board acknowledged the concern and the Mayor said Scott Keserich would be asked to speak with the property owner and that the law director had been informed.
Daniels also described operational issues in the Eastwood gardens: a recent volunteer placed multiple barrels in garden plots (15 barrels were brought in), which has created mowing and maintenance challenges where there is no gravel or landscaping cloth under them; the board agreed this should be evaluated for next season. A scheduled Eastwood speaker was canceled due to low interest and may be rescheduled on a weekend.
The board did not adopt a formal remedy during the meeting but logged follow-up tasks for legal outreach and a maintenance evaluation to clarify acceptable garden practices and the barn project's timeline.
