This is an increase of about 12% over last year,” Dorman told the board, and she added that 41% of hires are new to the profession and 34% hold master’s degrees. Dorman also reported internal mobility—56 staff members took different roles within the district—which she said can support retention.
Dorman outlined current vacancies and resignation patterns: three open special‑education positions, one middle‑school vacancy and two high‑school vacancies remain; she said 32 of 106 resignations were due to employees leaving the profession. The presentation emphasized retention strategies focused on onboarding, mentoring and workload adjustments and concluded with the board acknowledging the staffing report.
