Village advances WWTP planning and hires engineer for NY Forward grant work

Mayor Milne told the board the village is continuing follow-up on WQIP funding and an Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) loan for engineering needs related to the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) project, and that the village is waiting on the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to review and approve a new SPDES permit.
After reviewing proposals the board approved hiring HUNT Engineers to facilitate the NY Forward grant process at a cost of $35,000 to be paid from unappropriated fund balance. The motion to hire HUNT Engineers passed unanimously. The board also expects preliminary WWTP plans soon and is preparing a public hearing notice for the June 1, 2026 zoning meeting.
