The prison board voted to forward a contract recommendation to the county commissioners that would let Clearfield Comprehensive Treatment Center deliver methadone to inmates.
"It comes out to a rate of $17 and something a day," Warden Scott Atwell said when describing the vendor's proposed fee ($17.85 per day, $125 per week as presented). Atwell said the clinic would deliver weekly doses and that the agreement would cover methadone only, not other medications such as buprenorphine or Vivitrol. He noted county opioid settlement funds could be used to reimburse the cost.
Board members moved and seconded to forward the contract recommendation to the commissioners for final approval; the warden said he would attend the commissioners' meeting when the item is scheduled. No vote tally by name was recorded in the transcript; the board recorded the motion as carried by voice (aye).
