Police Chief Dan reported that August was a busy month: officers issued 32 infractions, handled three misdemeanors, filed one felony and completed 107 traffic stops. The department also conducted multiple trainings including emergency‑vehicle operation control (EVOC) and legal updates.
Chief Dan said the department deployed two resource officers to schools and that three new officers are in post‑training at ISU and are expected to graduate in December, leaving the department short three officers until then. Council thanked officers filling extra shifts during the staffing shortage.
The report was informational; no council action resulted.
