Sean said the Idaho GEM grant would fund a master plan and feasibility work for developing a currently undeveloped hospital‑property parcel as a recreation area, covering possible bathrooms, walking paths and other preliminary amenities.
Council approved Resolution 176 to include the required procedural language and allow staff to submit the application. Sean said the planning work would inform any later decisions about development of the property and that additional council approvals would be required before any construction or capital commitments.
No budget appropriation was approved at the meeting; Resolution 176 authorizes the city to complete the grant submission process.
