Elk County Fair organizers preview Enduro race, fireworks and free activities

Jeremy Dorsey, president of the Elk County Fair, told the Elk County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 6 that the fair will run Tuesday, Aug. 11, through Saturday, Aug. 15, with registration on Aug. 9 and a lineup of family attractions.
"I mean, we're excited for this year's fair," Dorsey said, describing a new Enduro race on Thursday, a 75‑lap class that will use the full track, a return of laser tag for kids at no extra cost, and added food vendors. He said the $10 admission will cover parking, grandstands and carnival access. Commissioners noted the county provided $2,500 toward the fireworks display and welcomed the fair's organizers.
Commissioners thanked Dorsey and volunteers for longstanding support and described plans to continue working with the fair board. Dorsey outlined capital needs, including lighting and a roof project submitted to the Department of Agriculture, and said volunteers are preparing the grounds in advance of opening night.
The commission did not take additional action beyond the brief recognition and appearance; Dorsey left after the update.
