Paulsboro board backs state-mandated tree ordinance, asks appendix to list indigenous New Jersey species

The Land Use Board approved its review of Ordinance O.03.24 (tree removal and replacement) but recommended Appendix A be amended to include indigenous New Jersey tree species; Vice Chair Jennifer Maden volunteered to research names for the appendix.
Borough Engineer Steve Cosaboon told the board that O.03.24 is a State-mandated ordinance setting requirements for tree removal and replacement. The minutes record: "Borough Engineer, Steve Cosaboon, explained to the Board members that 0.03.24 is an Ordinance that is State mandated for all municipalities."
Vice Chair Jennifer Maden asked whether Appendix A could be amended to include indigenous trees of New Jersey and said she would research suitable species. The Board approved the review with a recommendation to amend Appendix A (motion by Maden; second by Jack Henderson). The roll call recorded one nay from Erva Macauley.
