Staff reported Polk County's financial consideration for Polk City's portion was $4,430,850 and recommended the city consider paying cash from street-repair reserves (the city reported about $800,000 in the road-use tax fund) or discuss debt if needed. Council members discussed timing, budgeting, and the maintenance savings from paved shoulders and then approved the resolution to participate.
