Governor to designate Preston "Capital of the Day" for Oct. 29 with agency Q&A

The chair told the council the governor and senior staff "will be down here" and that attendees would include representatives from the Department of Transportation, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Health and Welfare and the Superintendent of Public Instruction. The chair described the format as listening-focused: "They want to hear from our citizens." The mayor's office tentatively reserved the Worm Creek Opera House and outlined a schedule that includes an open Q&A from 10 a.m. until noon, a lunch recess and a reconvening at 1:30 p.m.
City staff said more details will be provided to the public in advance of the visit. The announcement was informational and no council action was required.
