Sheridan Community Land Trust reports conservation, history and recreation wins in quarterly update

Brad Bauer, executive director of the Sheridan Community Land Trust, delivered a quarterly update to the Board on June 22 covering conservation, history and recreation projects.
In conservation work, the Land Trust partnered to remove two miles of fence in the Elk Fire area and plans to replace about 1.5 miles with wildlife-friendly fencing later in the summer; seven cattle producers are participating in a virtual fence pilot. On history, volunteers led a railroad tour on May 20 with roughly 50 attendees and the Streetcar 115 restoration now has a new shelter building. Recreation efforts included trail maintenance tasks. Bauer also promoted two public events: a free Search and Rescue water safety class on July 16 and the SCLT Backyard Barbecue on August 26 with free food and music.
Bauer's report was presented as informational; the Board did not record formal direction or action on Land Trust items during the meeting.
