The Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners on June 22 approved a temporary road closure in Big Horn to support a goat roping event scheduled for June 27, 2026.
Melanie Neff, general manager of Ledoux It Saloon and Steakout, applied for the closure to set up an arena in the restaurant parking lot. Sheriff Levi Dominguez shared his recommendations for the event and County Engineer Ken Muller advised that the applicant must pick up closure signs at the Road and Bridge Shop and return them after the event. "Motion by Commissioner Wright to approve the closure of 1st street on the south side of Ledoux It Saloon and Steakout...from 12 pm to 10 pm for the goat rope event. Vote Motion Passed Unanimously," the minutes record.
The motion approved closing 1st Street between Johnson Street and Main Street in Big Horn on Saturday, June 27, from noon to 10 p.m. The minutes do not list conditions beyond the sheriff's recommendations and the sign pickup/return requirement specified by the County Engineer.
