The Saint Mary's County Planning Commission on Aug. 10 approved the concept site plan CSP24-0443 for the House of Disciples, a proposed 9,385-square-foot worship center on a 9.6-acre parcel on Willows Road in Lexington Park. The approval was made by motion with conditions; one condition requires any state or county road improvements to be completed concurrently with issuance of the certificate of occupancy.
Engineer Jay Hopson described the project in detail, including setbacks to meet local standards, a parking layout that provides 72 spaces (68 standard and 4 ADA), a proposed on-site septic system (the county previously approved a public-sewer waiver, WASW24DashO336, on 09/04/2024) and stormwater measures that use vegetated swales and a submerged gravel wetland. The commission approved the concept plan by roll-call vote; the clerk called the roll and commissioners recorded 'aye' votes leading to approval.
