The Hudson River Valley Greenway boards unanimously voted Oct. 8, 2025 to rename the Hudson River Valley Greenway Community Grants Program the "William Barnabas McHenry Greenway Community Grants Program." Chair Meg Downey read a proclamation at the Boscobel House and Gardens ceremony and called for a motion. On a motion from Jennifer Carlquist, seconded by Linda von der Heide, the Board approved the name change.
Council Vice Chair Wint Aldrich offered a tribute to William Barnabas "Barney" McHenry before the vote; Chair Kevin Burke led attendees in a toast to his memory. The renaming took place during opening remarks and was recorded as a unanimous board action, with the motion entered into the meeting minutes.
