Hunter board adopts Resolution No. 5 (2024) to acquire Clover Road parcel; allocates $5,000 for closing costs

The minutes state the parcel has an assessed value of $9,100.00 and that Hunter 214 Corporation "has agreed to donate the Property to the Town for no consideration." The resolution treats the action as an "Unlisted" action under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and records that the board prepared a Short Environmental Assessment Form and concluded that "no significant adverse environmental impacts would result from the Town's purchase of this land," authorizing the Supervisor to execute a Negative Declaration.
The resolution further authorizes the Town Supervisor to execute a Contract of Sale with Hunter 214 Corporation and to undertake related closing steps, including preparing a survey and obtaining title insurance. The board authorized allocating $5,000 from the Town of Hunter General Fund to cover closing costs, including legal fees, title insurance, survey costs, environmental review expenses and deed recording costs. The motion was made by Councilman Ernest Reale, seconded by Councilman Dolph Semenza; the roll call shows Sean Mahoney, Raymond Legg, Ernest Reale and Dolph Semenza voting Aye, and Councilman David Kukle absent.
