At the Oct. 8 budget workshop, Councilman Raymond Legg proposed a 3% salary increase for all employees, noting the cost-of-living figure of 2.5% and recommending a modestly higher rate for the 2025 budget.
The board instructed that a 3% increase be used for Highway and Ambulance .1 accounts; police .1 accounts were already submitted at 3% except where collective-bargaining contracts apply. Legg reiterated that the draft budget should apply a 3% increase to any employee who does not have a contract specifying otherwise.
