At its Oct. 8 budget workshop, the Town Board of Hunter reviewed health insurance renewal estimates prepared by Budget Officer Lara Hamrah-Poladian and directed staff to return with a cost comparison between plan tiers.
Hamrah-Poladian told the board she prepared the documents using submitted salaries and a renewal of the current plan but used a 5% placeholder increase for Highmark Blue Shield because the broker had not yet provided final rates. Board members asked specifically for pricing for a gold plan, noting the current estimates only included silver and bronze options. The board did not choose a plan at the workshop and asked for calculations of the cost differences before the next meeting.
