Residents raise traffic, privacy and habitat‑connector concerns during DRB public comment

During the public‑comment portion of the July 21 meeting residents living adjacent to proposed Larkin Drive development voiced concerns about circulation, building scale and conservation‑area treatment. Bob Davis, president of the Harbor Heights condominium association, said Larkin Way was recently paved after being a dirt road and that the corridor already carries significant traffic, including service and semi trucks, and asked the board to pay close attention to sight lines and road safety in any design that increases traffic.
Other residents said the proposed four‑story building would be much taller than existing two‑story condominiums and would reduce privacy. One resident asked about a pool that appears to lie within the proposed conservation area and said the condo association holds long‑term lease rights for that pool; the board asked staff to research the pool’s legal status. Board members also encouraged applicants to identify specific areas of the habitat connector that would benefit from restoration plantings if they intend to use landscape funds for that purpose.
