The governance committee brought forward changes to the library’s room-rental policy to permit refreshments in additional spaces (the boardroom and the Pickard/quiet reading room) and to clarify procedures for the refreshment fee and post-event cleanup.
Marty Reed presented the committee’s recommended wording changes and trustees discussed the $50 refreshment fee—specifically whether light refreshments should trigger the fee and how staff should implement enforcement. Anne Malone moved to adopt the proposed revisions; the motion was seconded, called and passed on a voice vote. Trustees asked staff to review administrative steps for collections, deposits or refunds if a deposit model is later considered.
