County adopts flexible office hours and approves AFSCME overtime MOU for 35-hour week

The Wahkiakum County Board unanimously adopted Resolution No. 90-26 on July 21, amending Resolution No. 2-77 to provide flexibility for department heads to set office hours. The action followed a proposal from the assessor to move his office to a four-day (Monday–Thursday) schedule and a department-head discussion on service continuity.
Commissioners also approved a Memorandum of Understanding with AFSCME that specifies overtime requirements for employees who work a 35-hour week under a four-day schedule. The board noted that departments adopting reduced office days would need to ensure e-filing and other services remain available on days the physical office is closed.
