Independent Nomination Board OKs representative to speak to County Council about proposed charter amendment

The Independent Nomination Board on June 24 discussed a proposal from the County Council’s GREAT Committee to simplify the appointment process for boards and commissions and to dissolve the Independent Nomination Board. Deputy Corporation Counsel Yukari Murakami provided an update on the GREAT Committee meeting held June 16, 2026.
The board approved a motion "to approve Chair Burns to attend July 7, 2026 Council meeting to represent INB." Member Jenny Sullivan made the motion and Member Gina Gormley seconded it. The vote was recorded Ayes–5, No–0, Excused–1; the motion passed. The board recorded no public testimony on the agenda item.
