The Independent Nomination Board met June 24, 2026, and after an executive session on personnel and legal matters it forwarded one applicant to the appointing authority for the Maui County Cultural Resources Commission. The board also interviewed one applicant for the Police Commission but did not forward that applicant at this meeting.
Member Jenny Sullivan moved to enter executive session under HRS 92-5(a)(2), 92-5(a)(4) and 92-5(a)(8) to consider confidential hiring and legal matters; Member Gina Gormley seconded, and the board voted 5–0 with one member excused. The minutes state the board entered executive session at 4:18 p.m. and returned to open session at 5:00 p.m. "Motion to go into Executive Session for Agenda Item VI(a) under HRS 92-5(a)(2), 92-5(a)(4), 92-5(a)(8)" was recorded in the official minutes.
