Zoning board approves minutes, opens and tables dock variance hearing

At its Nov. 12 meeting the Town of Huron Zoning Board of Appeals approved the Oct. 8 minutes, classified a dock-variance application as a SEQRA Type II action, and tabled the variance pending a Wayne County Sheriff’s Office review; the meeting lasted about 17 minutes.
The Town of Huron Zoning Board of Appeals convened Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. and approved minutes from its Oct. 8 meeting after a motion by Gordon Smith and a second from Amy Connelly; the board recorded a 7–0 vote in favor.
The board opened a public hearing on application 1211-24A (6496 Ann Lee Dr.) from applicant Daniel Stewart requesting a dock extension to a total of 125 feet. The board voted 7–0 to classify the matter as a SEQRA Type II action (section 617.5(c)(12)), recording no significant environmental impact under that classification. After hearing the applicant and a range of board concerns about precedent, navigation and sediment, the board moved to table the item until its next meeting pending an advisory opinion from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Chairman Bob Lannon adjourned the meeting at 7:17 p.m.
