Police representative (speaker 7) told the board the department had applied for the program again and requested formal approval to proceed. "We applied for extra overtime...for training. Total amount we've applied for was 10,610 thousand $62.64," the officer said on the record. Chair (speaker 1) called for a motion; the board moved, seconded and approved the request by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
The department said the grant would reimburse overtime and training expenditures after the city pays costs upfront; the board did not attach conditions to the authorization. No additional budget appropriation or supplemental funding was voted at the meeting.
