Board discusses tentative 2025 budget changes, including vehicle funding and cuts to economic development line

During the Oct. 15 special meeting Supervisor Dave Fantuzzo outlined proposed changes to the town’s tentative 2025 budget. Notable line-item adjustments recorded in the minutes include: add $25,000 to A1620.477 (Automobiles) to fund a boat for the Building Inspector and Assessor access; reduce A6989.400 (Economic Development) by $9,000 pending a Comprehensive Plan grant; reduce A8030.478 (Water) by $30,000; and add $30,000 to DA9010.800 (NYS Retirement) to correct a previous omission in the tentative budget.
The board also discussed Building Department fee schedules to reflect staff training and recommended including a pay increase for the Building Department clerk in the 2025 budget. Councilmember Tiffany Smith agreed to work with Supervisor Fantuzzo on aspects of the Comprehensive Plan and Millenium Strategies as they relate to economic development funding.
