Supervisor lays out timeline for 2025 town budget; public hearing set for Nov. 7

Supervisor Dave Fantuzzo presented the town’s budget calendar and key deadlines: on Aug. 29 the budget officer will distribute budget sheets to department heads (financial records through 7/31/2024); meetings with department heads will be held in early September; budget sheets are due back Sept. 20; the tentative budget will be presented Oct. 1; the board moved its October meeting to Oct. 29 if needed; and the public hearing and vote to adopt the budget are scheduled for Nov. 7 (the vote must be held before Nov. 20).
The board said additional budget meetings would be scheduled if needed, and indicated that the approved tentative budget becomes the preliminary budget for further review.
