Board approves Shannon Taylor as substitute teacher for JDC coverage

The Coconino County Accommodation School District governing board approved hiring Shannon Taylor as a substitute teacher for the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) during its Jan. 8 meeting. Dave Dirksen described the request, noting that the board had earlier approved Ms. Taylor as the JDC Teacher's Aide and that the additional substitute role would provide coverage when the JDC teacher is unavailable.
Dirksen told the board that Ponderosa High School personnel would be present as needed to maintain at least two adults onsite when students are in instruction or supervision. The board recorded formal approval of the hire that same day. No formal vote tally was included in the minutes.
