The Airport Advisory Board confirmed an airport open house scheduled for Oct. 10, 2026. Airport Manager Bill Calderwood said Tourism & Rec. will complete updated posters and that the board removed drone participation from the event flyer; he also confirmed that Nellis Flight Safety will participate.
Tim Parish said he would check with Guardian/Reach about donating food as in past years. The board discussed promoting local flight instruction, offering discovery rides, contacting El Aero Plane Maintenance from Elko, inviting car clubs and air ambulance providers, and increasing fly-in participation. Flyers will be distributed when they are available.
Board members treated the open-house plan as a staff-driven event with outreach responsibilities assigned to Tourism & Recreation and airport staff; no formal expenditures or contracts were approved at the meeting.
