Pouley Park playground to close Aug. 10 for equipment replacement; reopening expected in October

City Manager Melba Hilson updated the council on Healy Park and Pouley Park: the city ordered new playground equipment as authorized by a resolution in late June, and the playground portion of Pouley Park will close Aug. 10 to allow public works to remove existing equipment and prepare pads for the new installation.
Hilson said the equipment is on schedule for delivery around Sept. 1 and that, "if everything goes well and according to schedule... the park playground will be back open around October 2." The manager framed the closure as a short‑term inconvenience to allow renovation and asked the council to help notify the public.
